Beef Orzo Delight (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 cups tightly packed fresh spinach
02 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
03 - 3/4 cup beef broth
04 - 1/2 teaspoon Italian herbs
05 - 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
06 - 1 pound ground beef (lean)
07 - Salt and pepper, as needed
08 - 1 (14-ounce) can of tomato sauce
09 - 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
10 - 1 cup uncooked orzo
11 - 3 to 4 minced garlic cloves
12 - 1/2 teaspoon of optional crushed red chili flakes
13 - 1 cup heavy whipping cream

# Instructions:

01 - Heat up a soup pot or Dutch oven and toss in the ground beef. Break it into chunks and let it cook without stirring, 5-6 minutes over medium-high heat.
02 - Add in the diced onion. Stir occasionally while breaking the beef into smaller bits. Cook for another 5 minutes. If there's excess grease, remove it; otherwise, keep it in.
03 - Toss in the garlic, chili flakes, orzo, and Italian seasoning. Stir for about 60 seconds.
04 - Mix in the tomato sauce, broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring everything to a boil, then gently simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring often to stop the orzo from sticking. Adjust heat to medium or medium-low to keep a light simmer.
05 - Take the pot off the heat, mix in the grated parmesan and spinach, and cover for a few minutes until the sauce thickens up. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Depending on your stove or pot, you might need to tweak the liquid amount. Add cream or broth if it's too dry, or leave it to sit and soak up extra liquid.
