Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) to preheat it.

Combine the hash browns and melted butter in a big bowl. Press this into a greased 9-inch springform pan, covering both the bottom and sides. Bake for about 20 minutes till it's golden and crispy.

Whisk the eggs, heavy cream, pepper, and salt all together in a bowl until smooth.

Once your crust has baked and cooled a bit, sprinkle the shredded cheese over it. Add bacon or sausage if you'd like. Pour the creamy egg mix on top, then sprinkle the chopped green onions.

Pop it back into the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. It's ready when the egg is firm and the top has a nice golden hue.

Let it rest for a few minutes before you take the pan's sides off. Sprinkle some fresh herbs on top and serve it while it's warm.
