Chai Oatmeal Warm Twist (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Porridge

01 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
02 - Pinch of salt
03 - ½ cup cream or use extra milk instead
04 - 2/3 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
05 - 1 cup steel-cut oats
06 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
07 - 2 teaspoons chai spice mix
08 - 2 cups milk
09 - 2 tablespoons melted butter
10 - ½ cup raisins (optional)

→ Sweet Cinnamon Mix

11 - ¼ teaspoon cinnamon spice
12 - 2 tablespoons white sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a 9- or 10-inch round baking dish with some grease. A pie plate with high edges works great here.
02 - In a big mixing bowl, toss together the steel-cut oats, chopped pecans, chai mix, maple syrup, raisins, and salt.
03 - Stir in the milk, cream, melted butter, and vanilla. Give it a good stir so everything's evenly mixed.
04 - Pour the wet and dry mixture into the greased baking dish. Smooth the top so it bakes evenly.
05 - Mix the cinnamon with the sugar. Sprinkle this mixture on top, spreading it out evenly.
06 - Pop the dish in the oven's center rack and bake for 55 to 60 minutes. You'll know it's done when the top turns golden and has a nice crunch.
07 - Take the dish out of the oven, scoop portions into bowls, and enjoy! Add toppings like fresh fruit, milk, more syrup, or cream if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - If you swap steel-cut oats with rolled oats, bake for 30-40 minutes since they cook more quickly.
