German Chocolate Poke Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake

01 - 4 large eggs
02 - 1 box chocolate cake mix
03 - ¾ cup vegetable oil
04 - 1 (3.4 oz) box chocolate instant pudding mix
05 - 1 cup sour cream
06 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
07 - 1½ cups mini chocolate chips
08 - ½ cup whole milk
09 - ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

→ Filling

10 - 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

→ Ganache

11 - 4 oz heavy cream
12 - 4 oz German chocolate, chopped

→ Frosting

13 - 3 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
14 - 1 cup granulated sugar
15 - ½ cup unsalted butter
16 - 1⅓ cups sweetened shredded coconut
17 - 1 cup evaporated milk
18 - 1 cup chopped pecans
19 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch pan. Mix cake ingredients until smooth, then fold in chocolate chips.
02 - Pour batter into pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes.
03 - Poke holes in cake and pour sweetened condensed milk over it. Let it soak in.
04 - Melt German chocolate with warm heavy cream, whisking until smooth. Spread over cooled cake.
05 - Cook evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, and butter until thickened. Mix in coconut and pecans. Cool and spread over ganache.
06 - Chill cake. Slice and serve.
