Nutty Cherry Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups candied cherries.
02 - 1 cup powdered sugar.
03 - 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temp.
04 - 1 large egg.
05 - 1 cup chopped nuts, like pecans or walnuts.
06 - 2¼ cups plain flour.
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavor.

# Instructions:

01 - Blend sugar and butter until smooth. Toss in egg and vanilla, then stir in the flour, cherries, and nuts.
02 - Form the dough into logs and cover them with plastic wrap.
03 - Pop the wrapped dough into the fridge for about an hour.
04 - Set your oven to 325°F to warm up.
05 - Cut the dough logs into rounds about ¼ inch thick.
06 - Bake for about 13–15 minutes, until the edges are just starting to turn golden.

# Notes:

01 - Butter works best when it’s softened.
02 - Cooling the dough makes it easier to cut.
03 - Let cookies cool down completely before putting them away.
