Cook egg noodles in salted boiling water until al dente; drain.

In a skillet, brown ground beef with onions over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.

Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, and sour cream until well combined.

Fold in cooked noodles and transfer half to a greased baking dish; layer with half of the cheese.

Add remaining noodle mixture on top and finish with the rest of the cheese.
