Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 oz softened cream cheese
02 - 8 slices of challah or brioche bread
03 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (save more for sprinkling)
04 - 1/4 cup strawberry preserves
05 - 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
06 - 2 eggs, large
07 - 3 tablespoons milk
08 - 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)

# Instructions:

01 - Use a small bowl to mix powdered sugar into the cream cheese. Stir it well until it becomes creamy and smooth.
02 - Spread the sweet cream cheese evenly over four slices of bread. Add a layer of strawberry slices and a bit of jam on top. Close the sandwiches with the other slices of bread.
03 - In a dish that's shallow and wide, beat together the eggs and milk using a whisk.
04 - Take each sandwich and dip both sides into the egg mixture to cover them completely.
05 - Warm up 1 tablespoon of butter in a large pan on medium heat. Cook the sandwiches until both sides turn a golden color, about 2 to 3 minutes each.
06 - Take the sandwiches out of the skillet and lay them on a plate covered with paper towels to soak up excess grease. Shake some extra powdered sugar on top before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Adding crushed nuts, like pecans or almonds, to the cream cheese mix can add a crunchy texture.
02 - Store any extras in the fridge for no more than 2 days, or freeze them for as long as 1 month. Warm them back up in the oven or a frying pan.
03 - Switch up the flavor by using apricot or raspberry jam instead of strawberry.
