Sausage Toast Roll-Ups (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 large eggs
02 - 8 breakfast sausage links
03 - 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
04 - 1/2 cup milk
05 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

→ For Serving

08 - Powdered sugar (optional for topping)
09 - Maple syrup (for drizzling)

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the crusts off the bread and press each slice flat using a rolling pin while the sausages are being cooked.
02 - Combine the cinnamon, eggs, vanilla, and milk in a shallow dish. Mix everything well with a whisk.
03 - Cook the sausage links based on the directions on the packaging. When done, keep them aside.
04 - Place a sausage at one end of a flattened bread slice. Roll it up tightly and, if needed, secure it with a toothpick so it holds together. Repeat for the rest.
05 - Warm the butter in a skillet on medium. Cover each sausage roll completely in the egg mixture.
06 - Lay the coated rolls in the skillet. Cook on all sides until golden, flipping as needed for about 3-4 minutes. Remove any toothpicks before serving.
07 - Serve while hot, with powdered sugar dusted lightly on top and maple syrup poured generously if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - Try swapping out the sausage for turkey or meat-free alternatives if you want something lighter or vegetarian-friendly.
02 - You can make these ahead of time. Store in the fridge for a day and warm them up in the oven or skillet when ready to eat.
