Homemade Sweet Onion Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 6 g mustard powder
02 - 12 g Dijon mustard
03 - 8 g cornstarch
04 - 7 g fresh onion, grated
05 - 22 ml red wine vinegar
06 - 90 ml white vinegar
07 - 120 ml water
08 - 200 g white sugar

→ Seasonings

09 - 0.5 g ground black pepper
10 - 0.5 g smoked paprika
11 - 0.5 g celery seed
12 - 0.5 g garlic powder
13 - 2.5 g salt
14 - 2 g onion powder
15 - 2.5 ml sesame oil
16 - 4 g poppy seeds

# Instructions:

01 - Once you’re done cooking, take the pot off the stove. Let the mixture cool off all the way before you pour it into a sealed container. Pop it in the fridge and use within a week.
02 - Lower the heat and keep whisking for another 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it gets nice and thick but doesn’t get lumpy.
03 - Keep the saucepan cooking on a low boil for 5 minutes. Make sure you keep whisking so nothing burns or sticks.
04 - Dump all your measured stuff into a medium pot.

# Notes:

01 - You can cut back on sugar or swap it for a different sweetener if you want it less sweet.
02 - Tastes awesome on salads and works great to marinate veggies or proteins.
03 - The sauce will get even thicker once it cools down.
